Overground rail

Hackney Downs and Hackney Central railway stations are very close to the pub. You can now use Oyster pay-as-you-go at both of these stations.

Tube

The Pembury is not particularly close to any tube station. Possible routes from the Tube include:

• On the Victoria Line, change at Highbury and Islington to the Overground North London Line, and take a train to Hackney Central.
• On the Central Line, go to Bethnal Green and take a northbound bus (106, 253, or 254).
• On the Central, Circle, Metropolitan or Hammersmith & City Lines, change at Liverpool Street and take an overground train to Hackney Downs. These trains run frequently, and the journey time is usually 7 minutes.

Oyster prepay is valid on all of these routes. It's worth noting that although you have to go through two sets of barriers if you change at Liverpool Street, you are charged as if you only made one journey.

By bus

Almost any bus that goes through Hackney will do!

By car

Obviously we recommend you do not drive to the pub if you are planning to drink; however, if you do drive you will probably find the car park at Hackney Central station the most convenient. Parking costs £1 per hour, or £6 for all day.

You cannot park on the single yellow line outside the pub on the Amhurst Road side on any day other than Sunday (except after 11pm, which isn't very helpful). You can park on the single yellow line on the Dalston Lane side after 6:30pm Monday–Saturday and all day on Sunday. Beware: Hackney Council's Civil Enforcement Officers are over-zealous and arrange to have cars towed away immediately after they issue a ticket.
