About the pubThe Oakdale Arms has been a pub for about 70 years, built on the site of an off-licence, in a turn of the century style. (This is according to our locals! - if you know better we would be interested to know more) With a large lounge bar and a smaller public bar, the Oakdale is a big friendly pub in a striking building. The Oakdale boasts 8 hand pumps offering cask conditioned beers, and Budweiser Budvar Czech lager. As befits a real community pub we have a very popular games room with an unusual blue pool table and darts board. The ethos of Indy pubs is not to turn your favourite watering hole into a tacky theme bar, or make it look like something from an Ikea catalogue. We like pubs to be pubs, offering good beer, good company, reasonable prices and basically be somewhere we would like to drink ourselves! We also have a successful pub in Peterborough, The Coalheavers Arms, and have recently opened the Pembury Tavern in Hackney. |
